ArtsFest Is Tomorrow — Come Celebrate Creativity in Statesboro

April 17, 2026 by Jordan Walker

Sweetheart Circle Comes Alive This Saturday

If you have not already circled this Saturday on your calendar, consider this your friendly nudge from your neighborhood pharmacist. ArtsFest 2026 returns to Georgia Southern University’s Sweetheart Circle tomorrow, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the whole thing is completely free — no admission fee, no parking fee, just five hours of color, music, and community spirit right here in the heart of Statesboro.

I have been going to ArtsFest since I was a kid tagging along with my parents, and now I get to take my own family. There is something special about watching our town gather under the oaks on Sweetheart Circle, paintbrushes in hand, kids laughing, local artists showing off their craft. It is one of those days that reminds you why Statesboro feels like home.

What to Expect at ArtsFest 2026

Hosted by the Bulloch County Recreation and Parks Department, ArtsFest has been a beloved spring tradition in our community for more than 40 years, and it keeps getting better. According to the Statesboro Herald, this year’s festival will feature more than 35 hands-on Art Stops spread across Sweetheart Circle, where you can try everything from molding clay and painting pet portraits to designing superhero masks, experimenting with watercolors, and tie-dyeing your own souvenir t-shirt.

The Artist Market will showcase over 50 talented artists from across the region, including Georgia Southern student artists, with unique handcrafted items available for purchase. Whether you are looking for a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry, a painting for your living room, or a handmade gift, this is the place to find it.

On the Community Stage, you can expect a full lineup of entertainment throughout the day — dance groups, vocalists, and interactive performances that keep the energy going from start to finish. For the little ones, there will be inflatables, bubble pools, and the ever-popular Paint Place, where blank canvases and bright colors are waiting. Event t-shirts will also be on sale for just ten dollars, and there is a free tie-dye stop where you can customize your own right on the spot.

Why a Day of Art Is Good for Your Health

You might not think of an arts festival as a health event, but here at Walker Pharmacy, we know that wellbeing goes far beyond prescriptions. Research consistently shows that creative activities — painting, crafting, listening to live music, even just strolling through an outdoor market — can lower stress hormones, boost mood, and promote a sense of connection with your community. For older adults in Bulloch County and Toombs County, getting outside for a few hours of gentle activity and social engagement is one of the best things you can do for both your physical and mental health.

And for families with kids, ArtsFest is a wonderful screen-free afternoon. Letting children explore their creativity outdoors, try new things, and interact with local artists is the kind of enrichment that sticks with them. Southeast Georgia is lucky to have events like this right in our backyard.

Walker Pharmacy Will Be Cheering Them On

Walker Pharmacy has been part of the Statesboro, Brooklet, and Lyons communities since 1984, and we have watched ArtsFest grow from a small campus gathering into one of the signature events of spring in Bulloch County. We are proud to be neighbors with the artists, volunteers, educators, and families who make this festival happen year after year.

If you are heading out to Sweetheart Circle tomorrow, make a day of it. Grab some breakfast in downtown Statesboro, spend the morning exploring Art Stops, pick up something special from the Artist Market, and swing by any of our four locations if you need anything — we are always happy to see you.

When and where is ArtsFest 2026?

ArtsFest 2026 takes place on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Georgia Southern University’s Sweetheart Circle in Statesboro, Georgia. The event is hosted by the Bulloch County Recreation and Parks Department.

How much does it cost to attend ArtsFest?

Absolutely. ArtsFest is designed for all ages, with more than 35 Art Stops offering hands-on activities for children and adults alike. There are also inflatables, bubble pools, and a dedicated Paint Place for younger visitors.

What should I bring to ArtsFest?

Wear comfortable shoes and clothes you do not mind getting a little paint on — especially if you plan to tie-dye a t-shirt. Sunscreen and a water bottle are always a good idea for an outdoor event in April in Southeast Georgia. A little cash is handy for the Artist Market and t-shirt sales.
